Reduced Blogging Schedule and Query Update

For the next few weeks I'm teaching flute class at the Summer Youth Music School at the University of New Hampshire, so I'll be on a reduced blogging schedule.

It's a great music program for kids ages 7th-12th grade. They stay in the dorms and take music classes all day with concerts at night.

Bad news for me is, I don't have as much time to devote to my blogging or writing. But this is the way it is with duel careers. Sometimes one takes over the other for awhile.

My query stats are looking a little down:

Queries: 55
Rejections: 24
Partials: 6 (2 rejected)

I'm still waiting to hear back from 4 agents with my partial for Paradise 21. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It's been four weeks for some of them, so I'm bound to hear back any time. And of course, I'll keep you all posted!

Ah, I've been wondering where you've been!

Have fun teaching! Programs like that are great for students. I wish I had something like that when I wanted to be a singer.

Hopefully you'll hear some good news from an agent or agents soon!

Best of luck with the querying! And have a great time teaching the flute class. I checked out that link you left over at my blog and was just blown away - I knew you'd be an amazing flute player, and I was right! Thanks for giving me the link!

The waiting is a killer.
But it sounds like that music program will keep you busy while you wait. :)

I just read on someone's blog that they waited for 8 weeks before hearing anything...but you still have four out, so that's good. The class sounds like fun and a wonderful opportunity for the students, wow. For me, it's been a hectic and crazy making two weeks. I'm going to get the review for Voices up sometime this weekend. I really loved it! Good luck and see you soon!

Thanks for commenting on my interview over at Jen's blog!

Yeah, I don't have a lot of excuses for my lame blogging schedule lately. I need to get more queries out also! It's been months!

Enjoy sharing your love of music with all those kids. They'll learn more than any of you think. Keeping my fingers crossed for you with those partials :)

Aubrey, you blog a lot more than I do. Your reduced schedule is probably equal to my increased schedule. LOL

Congrats on all the queries you've put out there. Keeping my fingers crossed for some good news for you.

I wish you all the best with the flute classes.

Cheers

Hi Aubrie, again. I listened to you playing flute on youtube. Lovely. You play wonderfully.

Waiting, waiting, waiting... ack, the hardest part of anything! Even buying groceries, for that matter... mmm food... I'm so hungry... *ahem*

Anyway, it sounds like a fun program you'll be teaching! All the best with the students, I hope you're all able to learn from each other. :)
