Great Water Music Festival

I won't be blogging tomorrow and not much on Saturday because I'll be playing flute in the Great Water Music Festival Pops Orchestra this weekend. It's right by a beautiful lake underneath a tent. (The bugs are awful), but it's quite an experience. We're playing Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, Lincoln Portrait by Copland, and other patriotic favorites.

At least it gets me away from checking my email for agents!!!

What are your plans for the weekend?

Oooo, I bet it's beautiful and good for you! Can't you put on some repellent? This weekend, IHOP with husband Sat. morning, then-because of Co-Teacher's son, gonna write-something!

Oh, that sounds like fun - minus the bugs of course. Have a good time.

I'm going to either be in bed with my foot propped up or at my writer's group meeting.

I hope you don't get eaten alive. Bug spray + Skin So Soft. Have a wonderful time! And yes, take a break from checking your e-mail.

I'm not sure what we're doing yet. Saturday morning, I think we're getting Dim Sum in Chinatown Boston It's Bastille Day festival in Harvard Square in the afternoon.

On Sunday, I want to catch The World Cup.

You are a woman of varying talents, Aubrie. Congrats on the concert. Wish I could go. I love Copland! Don't forget the bug repellent.

That sounds like a wonderful plan for the weekend! Outdoors playing is nice (when it's not too cold, or too hot, or I guess too much bugs, but I haven't really tried that...). I remember when I was in the school band we sometimes had gigs for Christmas. We all know what happens when you put a piece of metal to your lips when it's freezing outside... Ouch!

Have a great weekend! :)

Wow, that is INCREDIBLE!!! I love the flute, and you must kick major ass to play in a place like this. Do you have demos on youtube? =)

Have fun! And don't forget the repellent. =)

PS: You created the sci fi/fantasy award? Extra kudos of awesomeness (I love this non-word) to you, ma'm.

Wow- have fun! Sounds like a great experience and I envy you your musical talent! I could never stick with an instrument long enough to learn how to master it. And yes, getting away from the inbox is a huge plus:)

I hope the festival was fantastic! And I know what you mean about getting away from the email, sometimes it's a relief not to be able to check.

Ooh.. sounds really wonderful!

Thanks for the nice comment on my "Reaver" scene, btw. I've been horribly sick lately, and it was my attempt to start to think creatively again. Bah flu!

Wow Aubrie that sounds fantastic!!! How did everything go? I'm sure you did fantastic but I love good details!?

Looks lovely...but as you know, I have become intimately acquainted with the N.E. BUGS! "Squito-Central".

I would have weathered the bugs to hear/see you play.

I hope you enjoyed your experience...and aren't covered in little itchy red bumps. (I'm guessing you used plenty o' bug spray)

And you made me feel better about my mooselessness. :)

Have a wonderful week!
Love,
Lola
