Great Water Music Festival
I won't be blogging tomorrow and not much on Saturday because I'll be playing flute in the Great Water Music Festival Pops Orchestra this weekend. It's right by a beautiful lake underneath a tent. (The bugs are awful), but it's quite an experience. We're playing Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, Lincoln Portrait by Copland, and other patriotic favorites.
At least it gets me away from checking my email for agents!!!
What are your plans for the weekend?

Oooo, I bet it's beautiful and good for you! Can't you put on some repellent? This weekend, IHOP with husband Sat. morning, then-because of Co-Teacher's son, gonna write-something!
Oh, that sounds like fun - minus the bugs of course. Have a good time.
I'm going to either be in bed with my foot propped up or at my writer's group meeting.
Wow, sounds amazing--I hope you have a terrific time!
I'm planning to write and maaaaybe see Eclipse - my sister has been begging me to go.
I wish I could be there to hear it. Have fun! I'm planning a date with my husband, a family party on Saturday, and church Sunday.
I hope you don't get eaten alive. Bug spray + Skin So Soft. Have a wonderful time! And yes, take a break from checking your e-mail.
I'm not sure what we're doing yet. Saturday morning, I think we're getting Dim Sum in Chinatown Boston It's Bastille Day festival in Harvard Square in the afternoon.
On Sunday, I want to catch The World Cup.
Sounds great!
Have a good time!
How fun, Aubrie!! Best wishes and enjoy the beautiful magic of music! <3
What fun! I wish I could play something like that. next weekend we're going to the Symphony in the park. I can't wait! Good luck with the performance!
You are a woman of varying talents, Aubrie. Congrats on the concert. Wish I could go. I love Copland! Don't forget the bug repellent.
Oh my, that sounds absolutely gorgeous! Lucky you. Good luck on the playing and hope you have a wonderful time!
That festival sounds marvelous- have a ton of fun!
I'm going to Greece on Sunday. Woohoo!
That sounds like a wonderful plan for the weekend! Outdoors playing is nice (when it's not too cold, or too hot, or I guess too much bugs, but I haven't really tried that...). I remember when I was in the school band we sometimes had gigs for Christmas. We all know what happens when you put a piece of metal to your lips when it's freezing outside... Ouch!
Have a great weekend! :)
How very cool. Have a great time and a great weekend. :)
Have fun at your concert!
Wow, that is INCREDIBLE!!! I love the flute, and you must kick major ass to play in a place like this. Do you have demos on youtube? =)
Have fun! And don't forget the repellent. =)
PS: You created the sci fi/fantasy award? Extra kudos of awesomeness (I love this non-word) to you, ma'm.
I'll be keeping cool this weekend. Have a great time!
Wow- have fun! Sounds like a great experience and I envy you your musical talent! I could never stick with an instrument long enough to learn how to master it. And yes, getting away from the inbox is a huge plus:)
That sounds like a lot of fun (minus the bugs)! Good luck, hope it's a great time with a great crowd :)
Sounds fun. My dad used to clean house listening to 1812 Overture.
Dog trainer this weekend. Your plans sound much better! Have fun.
I love playing outdoor pops concerts :) (I play viola) and the 1812 is one of my favorites. Have fun!
How wonderful and exciting. A “water” festival sound pretty cool as well.
The festival sounds so amazing and fun! And it's so cool that you'll be playing flute. Have fun! :)
OMG....I LOVE the 1812 Overture...it 'moves' me the way so many of the rock songs 'move' the young kids today!!
And...I sooooo LOVE a good flute...wished I could be there!!
Aubrie--I'm working! And wanted to let you know I wrote my first review of your short stories, this one for Jester's Folly, over at my blog.
HAVE FUN!
Sounds like a wonderful festival. Enjoy!
Sounds wondrous. Have fun.
It sounds like it was truly amazing. Hope you had a great time!
Oh how lovely! Hope you had a wonderful time - what beautiful music to play in such a lovely setting. :)
How cool! I'm so impressed and it looks like a beautiful venue.
I've been camping, even with the stomach flu going around our house. But as you say, at least it's keeping me away from my email refresh button! :o)
Hell, you play beautifully!!! =D
That is so cool! I hope it went well! I'm so floored that you're a performing flutist AND a writer. You rock!
Hope you had a great weekend, and that the concert went well!
Wow, fun! I hope you had a great time.
Being completely unmusical, I totally admire that. Hope you had fun.
Enjoy!
LOL about the agent comment. :D
VERY nice! I hope you had a wonderful time Aubrey! (and didn't get eaten by too many bugs!)
Hope it went well. We hid from the sunshine and watched world cup matches on TV.
I hope the festival was fantastic! And I know what you mean about getting away from the email, sometimes it's a relief not to be able to check.
Ooh.. sounds really wonderful!
Thanks for the nice comment on my "Reaver" scene, btw. I've been horribly sick lately, and it was my attempt to start to think creatively again. Bah flu!
Wow Aubrie that sounds fantastic!!! How did everything go? I'm sure you did fantastic but I love good details!?
Looks lovely...but as you know, I have become intimately acquainted with the N.E. BUGS! "Squito-Central".
I would have weathered the bugs to hear/see you play.
I hope you enjoyed your experience...and aren't covered in little itchy red bumps. (I'm guessing you used plenty o' bug spray)
And you made me feel better about my mooselessness. :)
Have a wonderful week!
Love,
Lola
Just wanted to let you know I left you an award over at my blog. :)
