Sandy Green talks about Covers and Dance

I love promoting other authors who share the same publishers as I do. Sandy Green has a recent release from Astraea Press, and I've asked her to share a few things about it.

#1. Your story features dance. Are you a dancer? How much research did you have to do?

I have a BFA in dance from Florida State University and taught and choreographed for several years. Currently, I lead the liturgical dancers at Truro Anglican Church. My daughter was a competitive Irish dancer for several years, and I thought it would be fun to combine the two dance forms in one story!

#2. What did you first think when you saw your beautiful cover?

I was so excited to see the cover of No One’s Watching! I feel like the publisher had an excellent idea of the underlying theme of the story. The dancers are well trained which is evident in their respective poses. The use of one dancer in the foreground and one in the background reinforces the main character’s conflict in the story.

Now onto her New Release!

The classical romanticism of Swan Lake meets the raw energy of Riverdance in NO ONE’S WATCHING. High school freshman Kitri Othersen is expected to follow in her moms and grandmothers turned-out footsteps - dance in a ballet company and then teach at the family dance studio. And she loves the idea. Right?  Not exactly.

At summer dance camp, Kitri isn't chosen for a ballet role at the end-of-camp performance. Ironically, she’s placed in an Irish dance duet, a form of dance her mother, for some inexplicable reason, hates. Soon Kitri realizes that she’s falling in love with everything about Irish dance, including her partner Blake. When her archrival is injured, Kitri is offered the coveted ballet piece in place of Irish dance. Kitri has to decide whether to crush her mom’s hopes or tie a Celtic knot to her new passion and hang on.

After all, if you aren’t following your dreams, whose dreams are you following?
