All Entangled Eve: A Halloween Hop

5 Things I Love Most About Halloween

1. The candy. My favorite Halloween candy is the most fattening one- Reece's Peanut Butter Cups. Yum. I love the chocolate combined with the peanut butter. It's also very filling and will keep me from getting hungry for awhile. After that, I like candy corn, skittles, and sour patch kids. 

2. Dressing up. When else can you dress like you're in Lord of the Rings or Star Trek and still be considered sane? I also love seeing all of the little kiddies in their costumes. My 3 year old nephew is going to be a robot! And a co worker's kid is going to be an Ewok. How cute is that?

3. Watching Scary Movies. I love watching scary movies even though I'm the first one at night to close my closet door and not want to get up to go to the bathroom. My all time favorite scary movies are The Gate, Arachnophobia, Poltergeist, and Alien. Halloween calls for a scary movie marathon! 

4. The time of year. I live in New Hampshire and the foliage is gorgeous this time of year. I love driving around and watching the trees change color. It definitely gives Halloween a particular atmosphere.

5. Picking apples and pumpkins. I live right next to an orchard, and this time of year, the apples and pumpkins are ripe. There is nothing like picking an apple off a tree and eating it fresh and crisp, or walking in the pumpkin patch.

I love this time of year: the air smells fresher and the neighbors have started their woodfire. I love the smell of the smoke in the mornings and evenings. It reminds me of more carefree times in my childhood. I also love dressing up with my children and taking them trick or treating. It's such a fun family activity and my children laugh and laugh on that night. It makes my heart swell with love. michelle_willms(at)yahoo(dot)com
