Contract News!

I am head over heels excited to announce my new contract with Lyrical Press for my fantasy romance, Minstrel's Serenade! This story weaves my love of music together with my love of epic fantasy. I've created a warrior class of minstrels, able to defeat the most dangerous foes or manipulate the right political figure with one strum of their lutes. In a world where music is magic, who can you trust?

Pair that with one strong-headed princess, and her muscly, duty-bound bodyguard, and you've got quite a tale. This one involves necromancers, wyverns, and the undead.

Here is the working blurb:

Danika Rubystone has hated the minstrels ever since her mother ran away with one in the middle of the night. But, a duty bound tie to marry Valorian, a minstrel from the House of Song, is just one of her problems. Her father died in the battle defeating the Necromancer King, leaving her sole heir to an imperiled throne. Wyverns attack Ebonvale’s southern shores, and there are rumors of a mighty She-Beast. If that wasn’t enough, Danika’s far too interested in sparring with her bodyguard, Bron, than writing letters to Valorian.

While sneaking from the castle with Bron to spy on the wyvern’s latest attack, Danika finds a lone survivor who holds the key to protecting the kingdom. Wyverns block the bridge home, driving them into the minstrels’ territory. Here she meets the enchantingly sly Valorian. If she had known what he looked like, she’d have written some letters in return.

As Ebonvale’s Royal Guard sails with the minstrels to smite the uprising of wyverns and kill the She-Beast, Danika dances a line between Valorian’s charms and Bron’s loyalty. Will Danika stick by duty, like her father, or follow her wild heart, like her mother, risking her kingdom? Only in the fiery volcanoes of Scalehaven does she uncover the true nature of her heart.

Currently, I have two titles with Lyrical Press: Nebula's Music, published in 2009 and Messenger in the Mist, published in 2010. Minstrel's Serenade will be a great addition to these. Fantasy is where my true heart is, and I poured it into these pages. I am so lucky and honored that this book found a home with Lyrical. I'd like to thank Renee at Lyrical Press for believing in my writing and taking on this book!
