Starting up a Newsletter
I'm currently figuring out the ins and outs of using Mail Chimp in order to start up a newsletter! It's free up to 2,000 subscribers and up to 1200 emails a month- which I don't think I'll max out just yet! There's an excellent tutorial on You Tube explaining how to use it.
Please let me know in the comments section if you'd like to receive it and what email to send it to. I'll be talking about my author adventures, my books coming out, any giveaways going on, and the reviews I get.
I have some ideas how to get subscribers.
1. Advertise on this blog like I'm doing today.
2. Have people sign a list at my book signings.
3. Do a giveaway just for subscribers!
4. Make sure the content is interesting- include a personal story along with the news.

Newsletters can be a great promotional tool. I use Mailchimp too. I often use mine to let people know about things (like cover art or where to purchase a new book) before I mention it on my blog, Facebook, etc. Sometimes I do newsletter only giveaways. I also give away a free short story with each subscription.
