Writing and Submission Update

This has been a great writing month for me!

1. Haven 6 second round edits are passed in to my fantastic editor Kerry Vail at Entangled Publishing. I'm so excited with the way this story unfolded, and how all of the strands came together. I can't wait to share it with the world! Haven 6 is set to come out in September 2012.

2. I finished pre-edits for Colonization: Paradise 21 for Inkspell publishing. It had been an entire year since I wrote it, and my writing had changed so much, I needed to go back over each sentence and smooth it out. I'm excited to work with a new editor, Rie Langdon.

3. I started the sequel to Colonization titled: Reconnaissance. This is told through the arch nemesis of the MC in Colonization, and boy is it fun to turn the tables around and write through a different POV. This sequel has scary aliens in it, not the peaceful alien ghosts you see in Colonization!

4. My agent is currently reading through my other YA sci fi called Frozen. (aka my secret project) Hopefully it will be ready to submit soon!

And that's it for now. Phew! A lot is going on, but it's all good stuff, and I work best when I'm busy.

So, what's new on the writing front for you?

Wow! That's a lot. I am waiting to hear back on finished MS and am working on a companion novel to the one I am waiting to hear back on (as well as thinking about editing one that falls in between these two).

It was a rough start, but I think I finally found my groove.

Awesome! How fun! You're hard work is paying off! Very exciting.

I was wondering how one clearly distinguishes that their work is sci-fi. My last novel was paranormal, and I started writing my current WIP thinking it'd be the same, but it seems to have more elements of sci-fi. Hum.

Oh, and I'm also waiting to hear back on the queries I sent out at the beginning of the month on my paranormal novel. :)

Wow, you're staying busy.

I recently self-published an erotic paranormal horror short story under the pen name Nicole Graysen.

I'm writing the last chapter to the rough draft for a fantasy with romantic elements short story.

Good luck with all your writing.

Wow, Aubrie, you are busy! I cannot believe how many manuscripts you're writing. It's weird not being one of the first readers anymore. All of this hard work is going to pay off as you get more readers.

Wow, that's awesome! Good for you!

I'm polishing a query letter and then I have to write a synopsis but I hope to start querying a MG fantasy in a few weeks.
