Me and My Nephew: Evan James

My blog has been so serious and work-related lately, I haven't had time to show anything personal.

This picture was taken on Christmas Eve. My family was all opening presents, and I was at the TV, watching Elmo videos with Evan. He fell asleep in my arms!

Every Thursday I meet my sister, and we both take Evan to Music and Me where we bang on drums, shake eggs filled with sand, sing songs and do movement exercises to the music. I have to say this class is one of the highlights of my week. Not only does it bring me closer to Evan, but I get to see him progress from week to week.

The best memory I have is the first time he let go of his mom's hand during Music and Me and started walking on his own! I'll never forget that day. I was sitting on the floor videotaping the whole thing!!! Now my sister has his first steps on video. It's awesome.

Music and Me class puts my whole week into perspective. It reminds me what's important in life and makes me appreciate those little moments.

That's so cute! It's great you have those classes to brighten your week. Enjoy every little moment. They grow too quickly. Brandon's going to be two in two months. Ack!

You're a rockstar aunt! That's awesome you go to his class EVERY WEEK. He's a cutie. Looks to be just a couple of months older than my youngest.

Aubrie this is such a sweet post with a lovely picture to go with it. My sister has always been a big part of my kids lives and as they get older, they still have a great relationships with her.
