Happy Monday!

I know there is never a truely happy Monday, (Monday being my least favorite day of the week) but let's try to make it as happy as we can, right?

I thought I'd talk about what my books are about. I write lighthearted and positive fantasy books with a flavor of romance and a touch of science fiction. That doesn't mean that there aren't any dark or gloomy moments in my books, but you can rest assured that every story has a wonderfully happy end to it that will leave you with a warm glow for the rest of the day.

My first book, titled Voices of Ire, is more of an epic fantasy book written in multiple character perspectives. Here is a short blurb:

Azalin has successfully concealed her magical gift all of her life until a white haired Wishcaster arrives on her doorstep, asking her to best a domineering competitor for the throne. Reluctantly, Azalin is thrown into the fierce tournament for the next Wishcaster Queen, battling against a rival who is malicious, desperate, and has been expertly trained from birth. Soon she realizes that she is fighting not only for her endangered kingdom, but for the hand of the capricious Prince Flynn. Azalin must adapt to the lofty society of Castle Eaglecrest, unveil its corruptions, and bring justice to a faltering political system before the Kingdom falls under invasion from sinister forces gathering in the borderlands.

My second book, titled Dreams of Beauty, was inspired by my all time favorite fairytales, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. Written from the sole perspective of a shy and whimsical girl, it combines several references from these fairytales to spin a tale of it's own. Here is my blurb:

“Although Emme has never met him, his face appears every night in her dreams.”

Emme, a demure young woman living on the fringes of Briarswood, is doomed to be an old maid. Her childhood friend is recently engaged to the town beauty, and Emme is reluctant to venture into society and find love. Instead she entertains idle dreams of Davian Hawthorn, a nobleman who disappeared nearly a century ago. When Davian’s elderly sister, Lilly, and her daughter, Rosalie, return to claim his abandoned Estate, Emme discovers that he is still alive, held captive under a Sorceress’s curse. The curse leaves him suspended in time as a young man in an eternal slumber, only to be awakened by a kiss.

My third venture in writing is perhaps the most exciting and complicated story line yet. The blurb hasn't been perfected, because the book is still in the works, but here's what I have so far:

Two kingdoms on the verge of war…
A countryside overrun with mysterious beasts…
A love tested against duty…

Star Nightingale has trained her entire life to be a messenger for the illustrious kingdom of Evenspark. Traveling under the mist to deliver correspondence to the bordering Fortress of Ravencliff, Star is attacked by the mysterious Elyndra, giant lunar moths that lurk in the countryside. In the heat of the battle, she tears a hidden letter that carries plans for the assassination of the one man who has captured her heart: Prince Valen of Ravencliff. Star must weigh her love against the career that she has spent a lifetime to build and the country that she once thought was peaceful and just. Meanwhile, the mist is rising, enabling the creatures to gather in numbers and threaten the borders of both kingdoms. Star must unravel the mystery of their existence and unite the kingdoms before they fall under invasion. In her search she uncovers secrets about the origin of her own kind revealing untold truths of humanity itself.
