The Best Series Blog Hop

I want to thank the Cuddlebloghoppery Blog for hosting this Blog Hop: The Best Series Blog Hop. This is a plan to introduce new bloggers to each other, bring some readers to your favourite author and come together as a community out of love and, of course,  TO FIGHT FOR OUR AUTHORS TO THE GRISLY DEATH!!!!

In honor of this blog hop, I'm giving away one ebook copy of the first book in my YA sci fi series:

Finding a new home has never been so dangerous.

Andromeda has spent all seventeen years of her life aboard a deep space transport vessel destined for a paradise planet. Her safe cocoon is about to break open as Paradise 21 looms only one month away, and she must take the aptitude tests to determine her role on the new world and her computer
assigned lifemate. As a great-granddaughter of the Commander of the ship, she wants to live up to her family name. But, her forbidden love for her childhood friend, Sirius, distracts her and she fails the tests. The results place her in a menial role in the new colony and pair her with Corvus, “the oaf."

But when Andromeda steps foot on Paradise 21, her predestined future is the least of her worries. Alien ghosts from a failed colonization warn her of a deadly threat to her colony. And when Sirius's ship crashes on the far ridge in an attempt to investigate, she journeys to rescue him with Corvus.

Andromeda now must convince the authorities of the imminent danger to protect her new home. What she didn't expect was a battle of her own feelings for Sirius and Corvus.

The third book just came out this past January, so you can now read the series as a whole without having to wait for another installment. Each book is told from a different character's perspective, but each character is in all three books. This is especially fun because you get to see the character from the other character's perspective. So the antagonist in book 1 is the protagonist in book 2!

All you have to do to enter is leave a comment with your email for contact information if you win!  What I'd like to know is why you like to read a series as opposed to a stand alone book.

Thanks for entering!

I am definitely a series reader. I like for things to continue longer than a single book....unless said book is an omnibus of 2 or 3 books in 1. I think that allows more time for you to get to know the characters and to get into the plot. The author doesn't have to feel rushed to include everything into one book.

I love a series because I feel like it gives the author a chance to 'spread out' and take their time developing a setting, characters and a plot. I've already read your adult series so I know how gifted you are with all those points.

Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.

I prefer reading series rather than stand alone books because I think it allows the author to develop more of the world and the characters. You get to experience more of what the author wanted you to. I think its more fun to see the characters in more than one situation also.

I like that in series's you get to know the characters a lot more, they become more part of you, and you get attached. The author can develop the world more, more questions are answered, and you get suspense as you wait for each book :) Thanks for the giveaway! driftinginspaceandtime@gmail.com

If the first book is really good, I don't like saying goodbye to the characters. I love when there are more books to look forward to--even novellas or short stories :) Thanks for the giveaway!

I love series, since I tend to be a world-building focused reader, so getting multiple books in the same world makes me happy!

I like series better than standalone books because I usually start obsessing over the characters and I fall in love with the world in which the story takes place.

I prefer series because your time with the characters is more prolonged, and you can stay in that world the author built for a longer period of time.

Sometimes a standalone is just not enough! I want to know what happens after... did X and Y get together and love happily ever after, etc.? Also I find the world building to be richer since we're not in a rush. Gotta love some good world building!

I love to read both, but I personally prefer series because it allows both the reader and the author to explore the world more and understand everything in ways that isn't possible with stand alone books.

I love to read series because I feel like you get way more character development and it gives the author time to expand the world they are writing in. It really helps develop the plot as well and there's just so many more possibilities for awesomeness in a series (:
Thanks for the giveaway !

What's great in reading a series than a standalone. Uhm, to me that would be the feeling of anticpation and excitement you get after reading "The End" for the next book to come out. For standalone novels, the end is just that, the end. And being the person I am, I hate endings so if I could have a neverending series of books, I'd really like that.

Thanks so much for the giveaway! <3

I love series because I get to come back to the same characters over and over again.

I love series' because it allows the characters to really grow over a few books. Sometimes standalones just don't do the plot justice.

I'm participating in the blog hop too, and I chose His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman and Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas as the best series' that influenced me when I was reading in high school. :)

I love series more because the story continues and you get to know the characters a bit more in depth than a stand alone book.

Sometimes I feel like a stand alone book needs to be more, or could be longer. With a series it makes the story and imagination last longer and it most of the time ends up epic in the end.

Thanks for the great giveaweay!

I love series because sometimes in stand alones characters don't have time to develop and the plot can be rushed (or they can leave it on a cliffhanger and you never find out about what happens next). Plus there's just so much more to love about series.

I love series because i fall in love with characters and then I never want them to end!

I don't read a lot of series and I've been trying to get more into it. Last month I read The Divergent trilogy and I really enjoyed it, so I'm looking forward to reading more stories like that.
