Movie Review: Nonstop

An Edge of Your Seat Thriller

I decided to see Nonstop in the theater because it had a 60% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is very high for a typical movie. I was glad I did. This movie had me sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time and kept me guessing until the end. I remember one scene in particular when they try to track a cell phone call where my heart was beating so fast, I felt like I was sitting in that plane.

It does have the typical Hollywood moments like "hero comforts little girl," "hero and heroine question each other" "Hero talks about sad back story that's been kept secret the whole movie." But, the surprising twists make up for the cliches. Liam Neeson is a fine actor, and does a great job being likeable and believable. I've liked him since he was Qui-Gon the Jedi master.

I especially enjoyed Julianne Moore's witty character. She has the best lines in the movie, and she always makes me smile. My favorite scene with her is when she gives her window seat away to the little girl. Loved it! It's nice to see her in a more light hearted role after some of the crazy dramas she's done like Children of Men and that other movie where everyone goes blind. (Both of those were a little too dark for me- no pun intended!)

In conclusion, if you're looking for a thrill ride, than go see nonstop!

Nice review Aubrie. It was a fine movie, although very stupid.
