Writing Update: One Big Full Request

Okay, so last month was not the biggest word count month for me. The grand total was 26,269. The biggest achievement was starting my very first contemporary romance- a category I've stayed away from since I started writing. I'm so used to using fantastical atmospheres and worlds, and now the setting is real life, leaving me feeling naked! The emphasis is on the relationships between the characters, not any great battle to win, or ship to fly. It's a challenge, but I'm so excited to try a new genre.

On the submission front, my agent informed me of a request for a full from another BIGGIE. (If you email me, I'll let you know who.) So now I'm waiting on two biggies and one semi-biggie for my YA book, Frozen

As for upcoming releases: I have a big cover reveal on July 30th for Colonization: Paradise Reclaimed published by Inkspell Publishing. I'm soooo excited for this cover. My family and friends are telling me it's the best cover yet, so I can't wait to share it with the world. If you contacted me about the reveal, you should have gotten an email by now. If not, just leave a comment and I'll make sure to set you up with the contact info.

I'm still waiting to see the cover for the final installment of the New Dawn series- Haven 6. This comes out September 11th. I'm hoping it pushes sales for the entire series. I worked really hard tying up all the loose ends and making sure it was EPIC. My editor said it was "a home run", so I'm excited to see what you think!

And I found THE BEST quote ever and put it up on my blog under the title. Miley Cirus used the beginning of this speech as a tattoo, and I totally agree with her choice. Basically, it means all those people sitting in their cozy little chairs dishing out critiques don't matter. It's actually writing the book, or performing on flute, or whatever you actively do that matters. You have to try, and you won't be perfect, and some people  will be quick to point that out- (I don't usually say anything bad about anyone on this blog. But, anyone that has to put down other people or point out mistakes to feel better about themselves is a sad loser)- but they don't matter. There's more to the quote that that, but I could only fit so much up there, so if you want to look it up for the rest, I think it would be worth it.

And that's it for now. I love doing all these blog tours for people. It makes me feel good to help out other writers. Let me know if you'd like me to feature your book, and I'll put you up there.

Write on, people!

For the full request, is it the same publisher you told me about earlier? Or a different one?

And that quote is fantastic.
