Work In Progress Update: Home Stretch

Credit for Picture

I'm at 57,000 words in my WIP, Desert Nomad, and I feel like I'm in the homestretch! I started writing it in November, and last month I wrote 20K, so if I keep up with my word count goal, I'll be done at the end of this month. I have the outline for the rest of the chapters all planned out, and now it's just a matter of finishing it.

I went on Query Tracker today and did a search for agents representing Science Fiction and Romance, which I think is the best fit for Space Opera and there was quite a few of them listed! Just doing the search made me excited. This will be the fourth book I'll query. I did get full requests on the other three, but no takers. Maybe this one will be it!

Thanks for that link, Aubrie! I've built up my own list over time, but I'm sure I've missed agents that might be good bets.

And best of luck, too.

Wohoo! Home stretch! 20k words in a month is fantastic, I'm sure you'll finish, soon. I'm about to re-query my 3rd novel (I sent out a couple for it but soon realized it needed some changes before really trying.) So we should make a club of people who have queried more than one novel :-P

Good luck, chickadee! A good space opera is just the ticket in the river of today's current fiction offerings, methinks.

Aubrie, great progress. I'm so jealous cos all I've done over the past several weeks is less than 2000 words. In my defence, I've been doing revisions, but still ...

Good luck with the agent search. Let us know what happens
