My New Website

I finally finished the final edits to The Voices of Ire today! Yay! I'm so sick of taking out adverbs and was's. I'll never use them again. E-v-e-r. I've learned my lesson. Now it goes to the final editor, and then to print. It will be my first novel in print, available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.com. I'm so excited and a little nervous because it was the first thing I wrote as an adult.

While I worked on my edits, my husband fixed up my website: www.authoraubrie.com. It has every single thing I've ever published on it, complete with reviews and pictures of all the covers. Take a look and let me know what you think!

Aubrie, I apologize, I am honestly the most forgetful blogger on the internet. Not only did I swear I was already a follower of your blog, but I've even visited and read your posts without commenting. Give me the loser award, please!

But... I hope I can make it up to you by finally clicking that Follow button and checking out your beautiful website! Your book covers look lovely! I look forward to checking them out. :)

Wow, what an awesome Web site! Does your husband hire out? I love the music too. Where do you get the picture?

I read the reviews and the one that said your writing reads like music really fits. Makes sense since you're a musician, ya?

Ah--I've done the de-wasing and de-adverbing myself. And now I cringe every time I see one in print! Off to see your website!

It is an absolutely lovely site, Aubrie.
If I tell you that it took quite a while to load, please don't hate me. Just wanted you to know that for those of us with varying speeds on our Internet connection, it might be an issue.
But it was worth the wait, and I loved the music.

Aubrie - I am giving you an award, whether you likes it or not! Congrats on your new website, and of course (snicker) good luck on never using adverbs again! ( I think we all know how that goes!)

I never realized how many times I used "was" until I entered a writing contest and a reader pointed it out. In 250 words, I had about seven.

Recently, I read a post defending the adverb, which pointed out the J.K. Rowling uses them. As with many things, she's the exception to the rule.
