This year I'm going to be a part of National Novel Writing Month! It's when you try to write a novel/50,000 in one month! I know it sounds crazy, but with an official website and the support of your peers, people really do pull it off. Once you've sweated out 50,000 words, you can polish the novel until it shines. At least you have the words plunked out and actual paragraphs and chapters to work with.

It's a great idea.

My novel for NaNoWriMo is titled, "Desert Nomad". I'm currently working on the outline and blurb, but I know its going to be a science fiction/fantasy story about a woman who crash lands her escape pod on a remote desert planet. There's going to be sand pirates, desert worms, and of course a romantic interest along the lines of a Madmax type of male character.

Who else is going to brave the trenches of NaNoWriMo? If you are, please friend me: My username is authoraubrie. What kind of novel are you planning to write?

Good luck with NaNoWriMo. Several of my friends are doing it, but I don't feel the time is write for me to attempt such a thing. Your idea sounds so fun!

Thank you Bettie Lee and Angie!

Bettie Lee, what is your username going to be?

I'm doing NaNoWriMo with my best friend. It's her 4th year and my 3rd. My book will be titled Silversiders and it is post-apocalyptic meta-fiction with alternate histories, dieselpunk, and surrealism.

I'll add you on the NaNoWriMo site. My name is also Paradox there, so look for me!

I wish I could do NaNo! Unfortunately, I won't finish my current novel without 50,000 words between now and November ... and then another two weeks to do some worldbuilding. Curses. Have fun!

Okay, I added Bettie Lee and Paradox as buddies!

Lindsey, I know what you mean about finishing the book you're writing now! I'm going to halt progress on another book to do NaNoWriMo.

I wish I could do it too, but between all my other writing and work, I don't think I'll have time to put another novel in there. Maybe next year.
